ED Club

Entrepreneurship is the indicator of countries’ economic development and social wellness.  The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala , in association with Education Department formulated a Scheme to set up Entrepreneurship Development Clubs in colleges of the state to inculcate “entrepreneurship Culture “ among the Youth. The “Entrepreneurship Development Club” in S N M College Maliankara functioning for the students to develop Entrepreneurial spirit and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as torch-bearers of Enterprise for the new generation. The club was established in the college under the Department of Economics in the academic year 2019-2020.  The Club has been functioning at College in association with Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala. The club is registered with the District Industries Centre and it got e registration number EDC/EKM/67/19 in 2019 and also got financial assistance in 2022.

Objectives:

1.  To inculcate social virtues i.e., trustworthiness, integrity, hard work, discipline, honesty etc. as constituents of entrepreneurship.
2. To develop entrepreneurial culture in students.
3. To change the mind set on the negative attitude prevailing in the state for taking up entrepreneurship as a career.
4. To bring in successful entrepreneur and students on a common platform
5. To motivate the members to venture into the industrial activity.

Functions

1. Organize interactive sessions with successful entrepreneurs from outside as well as within the State.
2. Conduct exhibitions to explore the talents of the students.
3. Organize industrial visits to business enterprises within the State.
4. To introduce talented youths to industrial research Organisations.
5. Organize workshops, awareness programmes and
6. Exposure to various events in different parts of the state related to industrial development.
