Quiz & Debate Club

Quiz and Debate Club is a very commendable club in SNM College. It started functioning in the college from the month of January, 2023. To facilitate communication with the students, a WhatsApp group was started under the leadership of the club coordinators.

A quiz competition was organized at the college level to identify students interested in participating in the university quiz competition to be held in the month of February, 2023. About twenty students participated in the said competition. It was decided to send students Aparna KP, Abdul Basit and Lakshmi MJ who scored more points to participate in the university level competition. For that, under the leadership of Mr. Kapil Chandran, one of the coordinators, the students were given constant training and necessary instructions were communicated to them in time. As a result they were able to perform very well in the university competition.

Along with this, through Quiz and Club, it has been possible to inform the children about the various quiz competitions and debate competitions held in various educational institutions within and outside Kerala and to provide necessary arrangements and instructions to the students who are interested in participating in the said competitions.

Club Activities Report [2023 -2024]

More students joined in the Quiz and Debate Club this year as compared to the previous year. Like last year, the club has been able to deliver timely notices and information to the group members that many competitions are being held in various colleges in Kerala this year as well. Although not a prize winner, students who participated in various quiz competitions were able to perform to the best of their ability. On 24 th October, Bilha and Devika [I B A Economics] won the first position in the quiz competition held at the college level on the occasion of United Nation Day. The students Bilha, Abhijith and Devika from the college participated in the History Seminar-History Quiz held on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of Thrissur Koodalmanikyam Museum and Archives on 3rd and 4th November and performed well.

On 24th November,2023,Parliamentary Affairs Club, Electoral Literacy Club & Quiz & Debate Club jointly organized Model Student Parliament .Along with this, a student debate was also organized. Through the debate, the students were able to create awareness about various social issues along with understanding the procedures of the Parliament.

On December 19, students Bilha, Ananya Kannan, Devika and Anugara participated in the online quiz competition organized by South Indian Bank Ignite and secured excellent scores.
