Scholar Support Programme (SSP) is a part of the of the ‘New Initiatives in Higher Education’ implemented in colleges during the academic year 2014-15 instituted by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala with a view to impart personalized additional support to needy students through tutorials, study materials, additional lectures, question banks and interactive sessions, The Directorate of Collegiate Education is responsible for implementing the programme. Funds are allotted to colleges for the implementation of the programme. It follows the guidelines provided by the Department of Higher Education. Classes are disseminated by the faculty of the college. The program has a college-level coordinator and is monitored by the IQAC. This programme goals to overcome the academic weakness of students who belong to the bottom of the merit hierarchy. This compensatory programme aims at imparting additional support to students in curricular areas of weakness. Students are selected on the basis of ‘Result Analysis’. Eminent faculty within the institution and faculty from outside the institution are engaged for this purpose. These classes are normally conducted during morning/afternoon and holidays without affecting the regular class hours.
