Facilities

The Department of Physics has one well equipped laboratory for UG course and one well equipped laboratory for PG course with all necessary instruments and facilities for the students to do general and electronics experiments as part of their syllabi. The labs are spacious enough and a full-time lab attendant is appointed for the smooth functioning of the laboratory. Students are guided with basic and advanced knowledge of general and  experimental techniques in the area of Physics.

The UG laboratory is comprised with facilities to do various mechanical experiments such as Young’s Modulus of the material, Torsion Pendulum, Fly Wheel, Compound Pendulum, Kater’s Pendulum, Viscosity of liquid etc and optics related experiment such as Spectrometer, Newton’s ring, Liquid lens, Laser etc. Experiments related to electricity & magnetism are performed using instruments such as Potentiometer, Carey foster bridge, Deflection & Vibration Magnetometer etc.

The PG laboratory is comprised with the best sophisticated equipment such as CRO’s, microprocessors, four probe apparatus for measuring electrical conductivity, apparatus for measuring characteristics of photodiode, apparatus for measuring Planck’s constant etc. There is also a computer lab with 7 computers with MS Office, Turbo C++, Origin Lab etc. installed.
