The college library functions with the main objective of collecting, organizing and disseminating information to meet the educational, professional and recreational needs of students, faculty members and other staff of the college. The library, which was established in 1964, is spacious enough to accommodate a hundred students at a time. The library is fully computerized and the document collection has also been bar-coded and RFID based attendance system. The aims and objectives of a college library are vital in fulfilling its role as a valuable resource center within the institution. With a focus on supporting educational programs, fostering intellectual growth, and facilitating research, the library aims to provide a rich and diverse collection of materials that go beyond the confines of textbooks. By promoting deep and advanced studies, enhancing understanding across disciplines, and preparing students as responsible citizens, the library plays a crucial role in empowering individuals with knowledge and critical thinking skills. Furthermore, it serves as a hub of information, connecting faculty members with the latest updates in their fields and offering healthy entertainment options for its users.

Mission

Guided by our commitment to intellectual growth, lifelong learning and social responsibility, S.N.M College library provides resources and services to support student learning and faculty teaching. We are educational partners who engage in knowledge generation and access, design transformational learning experiences, and provide environments for inquiry and exploration.

Services Available in the Library

  • Reference Service:- Library has a rich collection of reference books on different branches of Knowledge.
  • New Arrivals:- New arrivals are displayed on a special rack for two weeks.
  • Internet Facility:- 20 computers with internet access are available for the usage of students
  • Reading Room Facility:-70 members can use the reading room facility at a time. Facilities are also provided in the stack room for reference
  • E-Resources Facility:-Library provides access to E-Newspapers, E-Books and E-Journals.
  • Digital Library:- Library maintains a collection of previous year Question Papers and Newspaper Clippings etc. in DSPACE and caliber Digital Library Software
  • User Awareness program:-College Library conducts a Library User orientation for the First year UG and PG students every year
  • Reprographic Service:- College library provide Photostat facility as well as Book Binding facility
