Automatic Weather Station

The Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research, Cochin University of Science and Technology under the funding of Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt of India has installed an Automatic Weather Station (AWS) in the campus upon an MoU signed between CUSAT and SNM College, Maliankara. The AWS measures the precise weather conditions of the coastal areas, with the exact calculation of the wind speed, amount of rainfall received and other weather deviations of the area. The equipment functions with solar energy and transfers the data directly from the censor connected to the AWS to the Radar Research Centre, CUSAT. The students could utilize the data for their research purpose.
